A bit of background about Black Dog Home Boarding Sussex

My name is Jane Palmer and I started running a dog care business in Heathield in the Spring of 2007.  This came about by the arrival of Charley my first black labrador.  I wanted to spend more time with him and decided that I really needed to have a lifestyle change in order to facilitate it.  After many years on the road as a sales rep driving the length and breadth of the UK, the change couldn't come soon enough!!  I knew I had the skills to run a business, and I realised there were lots of people like me who needed great care for their dogs when they were on holiday away from a kennel environment.  I wanted the opportunity to build up a reliable bank of trusted sitters who I would be happy to use myself for my own dog/s and recommend to prospective clients.  This is the key to our success, as we spend a lot of time and resources searching for the perfect people to join our team.  I have put together a small portfolio of reliable, trustworthy, dog loving people who we know we can rely on to provide a first rate service to our clients. Our team is smaller than it was pre COVID and I am very much heading up the Home Boarding myself now with the support of other sitters.  I love meeting and getting to know new dogs - I love walking and make a point of geting out as much as dogs want to, to go and explore the countryside. Although I no longer have any dogs of my own - our home is VERY dog friendly and many of my clients are happy to buddy up with another one or two friendly dogs.  We have some wonderful adventures together.

The Sitters Who Make Black Dog Home Boarding Sussex a wonderful service

Carefully selected, experienced, insured and licensed, BDHBS sitters are the best people you could wish to trust your dogs with whilst you are unable to be with them yourselves. They have owned dogs themselves, but now prefer to have the flexibilty of enjoying looking after other people's dogs. BDHBS train the sitters, provide support and 24 hour backup, should it be required. The sitters are situated within the Sussex area, have secure gardens and a variety of walks within easy reach. We aim to match you to the best possible sitter, specialising in providing one to one care where possible. You will always meet your sitter before your dog is left in their care and we try to maintain that relationship where we can, because you and your dogs appreciate this continuity.
